How to Use
Fill the enema bag with the appropriate solution (warm water, saline or coffee enema solution as preferred). Hang the bag at approximately 1 metre above your position. Insert the lubricated nozzle gently and open the flow clamp. Retain the solution for the recommended period, then expel. Follow the full printed instructions included in the kit. Consult your GP before use if you have any digestive conditions, recent bowel surgery or medical concerns.
Is a home enema kit safe to use?
When used correctly and in moderation, home enema kits are safe for most healthy adults. They should not be used more than once per week routinely. Consult your GP before use if you have haemorrhoids, inflammatory bowel disease, recent bowel surgery, or if you are pregnant.
What liquid should I use in the enema kit?
The most common and safest option for general use is warm, filtered water or saline solution. Some users choose coffee enema preparations. Always use body-temperature liquid — never hot water. Avoid harsh soaps or chemical solutions.
How do I clean and sterilise the kit between uses?
After use, flush the bag and tubing thoroughly with warm water. Wash with mild soap and rinse completely. Sterilise by soaking in diluted white vinegar or hydrogen peroxide solution, then allow to air dry completely before storage. Never share the kit with other individuals.
How often should I use an enema kit?
For constipation relief, an occasional enema (once every 1–2 weeks) is generally considered safe. Regular or frequent use is not recommended as it may disrupt the natural bowel microbiome and gut motility. Chronic constipation should be discussed with your GP.
